ASG launches the Attwood PowerBase Series

Attwood, a division of Advanced Systems Group (ASG), has launched an all-new PowerBase series. Shortlisted in the 2021 DAME Design Awards, PowerBase is said to be the marine industry’s first truly intelligent, powered fold-down light or antenna base, all controlled with a push of a button from the helm of a vessel.

The PowerBase series incorporates the following features:

  • SafeGuard Breakaway – in the event of an impact, PowerBase will safely return to stowed position preventing potential damage.
  • SmartDeploy Backdrive – in the event of a blocked deployment, PowerBase senses an obstruction and reverses the light/antenna back to its starting position.
  • Standardised mounting patterns – allowing for upgrading.
  • Availablility in masthead and all-round configurations featuring Attwood brand LightArmor LED Technology (PowerBase Light).

According to Attwood, the PowerBase series allows users to experience worry-free boating, with the intuitive design and safety features providing reassurance that PowerBase is always aware.

“Building upon our successes with the industry-leading Attwood LightArmor navigation light portfolio, PowerBase allows us to challenge the status quo and address major safety and accessibility needs faced by boaters each and every day,” says Justin Focht, product manager at ASG. “PowerBase also offers our OEM partners seamless integration with their existing boat designs and will dramatically reduce hardtop warranty and service claims.”
