Barton Marine to show off its new glands at Seawork

Barton Marine has introduced a new range of Bulkhead Pipe Glands. They’re available in a wide variety of sizes and compatible with angled entry of pipes and curved surfaces. Barton believes that they are suitable for specification on almost all vessel types.
Already this year, the constantly innovating company has launched new products for dinghy sailors ( the HB1 Continuous Line Furler and the Low Friction Ring Strap Eye), as well as a newly engineered range of Genoa cars at the end of 2024.
With the vast majority of market offerings designed for cables, Barton’s glands feature apertures greater than 25mm.
“The new range of Bulkhead Pipe Glands can be used to seal through most bulkhead substates including, fibreglass, polyethylene, steel and polyprop,” says Jeff Webber, chief commercial officer. The glands are designed to give a watertight and vapour tight seal between compartments, where pipes, wiring & LPG installations move through the vessel. “Bulkhead watertight integrity is essential in modern boat building and pipes moving through the vessel bulkheads always present a challenge. Our new range provides the optimum solution, with the ability to service, adjust and remove pipes/cables if needed.”
The new Bulkhead Pipe Glands range meets the recently updated MCA Workboat Code 3 and MGN200 regulations as well as being compatible with the MCA Pleasure, Sport and Leisure Codes of Practice. The glands now sit alongside a vast array of product which can be found on Barton’s website.

Delivering a fully water and vapour tight seal as pipes pass through bulkheads both horizontally and vertically, while enabling full adjustability and servicing capabilities, the glands ensure compartment watertight integrity at all points where pipes traverse through the vessel. The glands suspend pipes through bulkheads minimising the risk of vibration, chaffing and the transfer of sound and smells. Construction from 316 marine grade stainless steel and nitrile rubber (BS2751) means the glands are durable in the most challenging areas of vessels, regardless of oils, chemicals or environmental conditions.
Barton Marine is welcoming boat builders, refit yards, surveyors, naval engineers and architects to check out its glands on Seawork Stand Q18 from 10 – 12th June.
