World Sailing invites bids for 2023, 2024 and 2025 annual conferences

World Sailing is inviting host cities to submit bids for its 2023, 2024 and 2025 Annual Conference.

The 2023 Annual Conference will take place from 13-18 November 2023.

World Sailing’s annual conference brings together between 450-600 international delegates from around the world to plan future events, shape the direction of the sport, and celebrate the achievements of sailing on and off the water.

Held every year over a six-day period in early November, the annual conference includes committee meetings, council meetings, the annual general meeting, and provides a forum to share best practice, generate new ideas and create concepts for the continuous development in all aspects of sailing.

The conference is said to create significant local spending, including approximately 1,500 hotel nights and spend on local transport, restaurants, and cultural activities.

At the 2022 AGM in Abu Dhabi, World Sailing voted overwhelmingly, with a 93.85 per cent majority, to approve changes to its governance structure and modernise its constitution. The changes will be implemented from 2024 AGM.

Interested parties wishing to host and organise the annual conference during this period can contact Nelia Smith, director of international relations and brand for detailed bid documentation.

The deadline for submissions is 5pm UTC on 31 January 2023.
