Boat Show Denmark moves outdoors amid rising costs

Boat Show Denmark — a biannual event previously known for being Denmark’s largest indoor boat exhibition — is to relocate from its long-standing indoor venue to a nearby marina.

The show is moving from its traditional venue at the Messe C convention centre in Fredericia to Marina Fredericia, where the event will take place outdoors 1-3 May 2026. Visitors will be able to view boats in the water.

Organisers tell MIN that the decision follows ‘high transport and setup costs’ linked to indoor exhibitions.

The news comes amid a tough period for other boat shows in the region. Boot Holland 2026, the Netherlands’ only indoor watersports fair, has been cancelled for the second year in a row due to a shortage of exhibitor registrations.

Organisers of Boat Show Denmark say they plan to offer visitors access to a range of boats and marine equipment at the marina, along with opportunities for sea trials. Additional activities are expected to run throughout the event, including shuttle boat services and live-streamed content on large screens.

A selection of boats already confirmed includes the Aquila 42 coupé presented by the Scandinavian Catamaran Centre, the Faurby 360 DS from Faurby Yachts and the Hallberg-Rassy 400 and Bavaria C38 from Dansk Marine Centre.

Early-stage brand participation at Boat Show Denmark includes Sirena, Dragonfly, Princess, Halberg, Beneteau, Aquila catamarans, Faurby/Nordship, Bavaria and Monterey.

A foiling dinghy glides on the water, showcasing high-performance equipment, alongside Pro-Set's epoxy solutions for composite manufacturing.
