Boatpoint expands brokerage services to Penarth Marina

Boatpoint, a UK boat brokerage company, has expanded its services to Penarth Marina, marking its ninth location in the UK and second in Wales.
Boatpoint, part of the Boatfolk Marina Group, says the new boat sales centre aims to strengthen its presence in Cardiff and will operate in collaboration with the company’s Portishead team to enhance coverage of the Bristol Channel area.
The new Boatpoint offering sits alongside Boatcare, a boat maintenance company founded by Boatfolk, and additional services that are available for berth holders and visiting boaters.
“Welcoming Boatpoint to Penarth Marina is an exciting step in ensuring boaters have everything they need, all based in one location,” says Stuart Jones, marina manager of Penarth Marina. “Whether buying, selling or simply looking for expert advice, we look forward to welcoming existing and potential new boat owners to the marina and supporting them in making informed purchases, sales and the most of their time on the water.”
Boatpoint specialises in the sale of used boats, with brokers available to assist buyers in selecting suitable vessels. The collaboration with the Portishead office allows for market valuations and guidance on legal requirements for those selling boats.
Last month, Boatfolk announced a series of significant upgrades at the Royal Quays Marina in North Shields, north-east England. The developments include a new pontoon system around the hoist dock, providing a dedicated and safe area for boats to be lifted. Hammerhead extensions have also been added to all existing pontoons, creating 54 new berths ranging from 6 to 13 metres, while eight new 20-metre berths have been created through new pontoon installations. This expansion brings the total number of berths at Royal Quays Marina to 400, marking a 17 per cent increase in capacity.
Further upgrades have led to enhanced shore power capacity and a £1.5m investment in the marina’s all-tide lock.
Boatpoint customers have access to berthing discounts across Boatfolk’s 11 UK marinas. Buyers can also utilise the nationwide cruising pass, which provides berth holders with up to 300 nights of free cruising between Boatfolk locations.
