‘We love water’ campaign launched in anticipation of 2025 boot Düsseldorf
The 2025 edition of boot Düsseldorf has unveiled further plans for the 56th edition, including its new campaign under the tagline ‘We love water’. The annual event, returning from 18 to 26 January 2025, is the world’s largest yacht and water sports show.
Show director Petros Michelidakis has expanded on his interview announcements with MIN earlier this year and continues to emphasise the show’s commitment to the future of water sports, aiming to connect with enthusiasts across all activities “in, on, or around the water”. The new campaign additionally encourages people to respect the oceans and take responsibility for sustainable commitments and new ideas.
“We, water sports enthusiasts, whether sailors, motor boaters, divers, or surfers, are united by our love for our element. With ‘We love water’, we have found a motto that touches the heart of every water sports enthusiast,” says Michelidakis.
The campaign, launched at a media event earlier this month, featured diverse water sports personalities, from sailors and divers to surfers and windsurfers, reflecting the broad appeal of the anticipated event. German apnea diver Anna von Boetticher, president of Azimut Giovanna Vitelli, windsurfing professional Adam Sims, content creators Elena and Ben, and superyacht captain ‘Captain Boomies’ were among the various faces.
Last year, the show welcomed around 55,000 visitors during the weekend. For this year, the organisers promise the 2025 boot Düsseldorf show to be a milestone for the industry, boasting further impressive numbers: 16 halls filled with boats, yachts, boards, and diving equipment; 1,500 exhibitors from around the globe, including an Australian shipyard for the first time; and 220,000 square metres of exhibition space.
“This means that boot Düsseldorf has been the undisputed leader among the international water sports trade fairs for many years and will continue to hold this position in the future,” adds Michelidakis.
Highlights of the show include the Sailing Plaza and Sailing School in Hall 15, designed to attract newcomers to the sport. The Boating Plaza in Hall 3 will cater to motorboat enthusiasts, offering information on various boat types, licensing, and a dedicated sportsfishing area. For the luxury market, the Superyacht Show Lounge in Hall 7a will serve as a networking hub for the superyacht industry.
Boot Düsseldorf is also introducing initiatives to encourage participation, such as free one-day tickets for those obtaining a German recreational boating license between January 2024 and January 2025. The commitment to supporting and developing the entire industry continues, with families benefiting from free admission for children up to 12 years old. A newly developed app will help all visitors plan their experience effectively.
The event is expected to draw over 200,000 visitors from more than 100 countries. Beyond showcasing the latest in water sports equipment and vessels, the event will also spotlight marine conservation and sustainable technologies through initiatives like the Blue Innovation Dock and the “Ocean Tribute” Award.
Online tickets for boot Düsseldorf will be available from 18 September. Boot.club members will be able to take advantage of a special offer: two days for the price of one (€19).
