Brian Kaye, industry stalwart, dies age 71

Brian Kaye

Brian Kaye, well known for running BK Electro Marine at the Hamble Point Marina for over 25 years alongside his wife Alison, has died. He passed away on 21 December 2023, leaving a lasting legacy in the marine industry. His family are saddened by the sudden news, but are very proud of his lifetime achievements in his career and family life.

Kaye enjoyed a lot of success in the marine industry. Highlights include being the UK dealer for Riva boats in the mid-90s, Raymarine dealer of the year on multiple occasions in the 90s and Webasto main dealer for the inland waterways selling heating systems for narrow boats to over 75 per cent of the UK market in the early 2000s.

Kaye retired to France after he was widowed in 2008, and enjoyed a wide range of hobbies including military history, classic cars, boats, train sets and more. He then married Sue who, along with his sons, will welcome anyone who wishes to pay their respects at the funeral.

Kaye’s funeral will be held at Wessex Vale Crematorium, Southampton, on Friday 26 January at 4pm, with the wake at the Still & West pub in Portsmouth afterwards.
