Cannes 2026: Aquila showcases second model in new sailing range

Aquila Catamarans has unveiled the 35 Sport and 45 Sail at Cannes Yachting Festival 2026, adding a more compact model to its centre console Sport range and revealing the second model in its new sailing range.

Aquila’s 45 Sport power model is also making its European debut at the show, alongside a range of other sail and power models on display.

Aquila 45 Sail

The 45 Sail is making its world debut at Cannes Yachting Festival as the second model in Aquila’s new sailing range, after the 50 Sail, which launched in February 2026.

The 45 Sail catamaran measures 14.3m overall and has a 7.7m beam, with more than 125.4sqm of upwind sail area.

The fixed bow provides additional deck space, including seating and a sun pad. Access between the bridge and bow allows movement around the boat from the open flybridge helm area, which includes U-shaped seating, a coffee table and a forward-facing settee.

At the aft, the cockpit connects directly with the salon and galley. Panoramic windows are used to bring natural light into the interior spaces, which are intended for extended cruising.

Buyers can choose between three- and four-cabin layouts. Each cabin has a private entrance and an en suite head with a shower, with accommodation for up to 12 guests. Aquila says the range of layouts is intended to suit both private ownership and charter use.

Aquila 35 Sport

The 35 Sport uses styling similar to the Aquila 45 Sport and is intended for day boating and social use.

Measuring 10.82m overall with a 4.5m beam, the catamaran is designed to make the most of the available deck space. The layout centres on three main social areas at the bow, helm and aft cockpit.

A double-stepped hull is paired with twin Mercury Verado V8 300HP outboards as standard, while twin Mercury Verado V10 400HP engines are also available. Aquila states that the model has a top speed of 39–45 knots and cruises between 25–34 knots.

The catamaran hull is designed to reduce drag and improve stability. Its shallow draft is also intended to allow access to beach anchorages and coastal waterways.

The forward seating area accommodates four people and includes integrated storage. At the aft, a U-shaped seating arrangement has an adjustable backrest that allows the area to be converted into a sun lounger. The seating can also move from side to side at the touch of a button, widening the walkway and making it easier to move around the cockpit.

The aft area includes a wet bar with a sink and storage, alongside a Corian-topped galley block and a Fusion Signature Series audio system with six speakers.

At the helm, four seats feature flip-down bolster cushions, armrests and adjustable positions. The dashboard sits low to improve visibility, while the helm layout allows the driver to remain part of the wider deck area.

Below deck, the cabin sleeps two in a queen berth with a memory foam mattress. Access is through a lockable sliding door. A private head includes a shower, while an optional lithium battery package is available to support off-grid climate control.

Other equipment includes a concealed stainless steel swim ladder, stainless steel side gates and a freshwater pull-out shower at the transom. A C-Zone digital switching system monitors and controls DC power throughout the boat.

The fibreglass hardtop can be specified with optional roof racks for carrying SUPs, bicycles or kayaks. An optional Makefast shade system can also be fitted to extend the available shade.
