D-Marin acquires Porto San Rocco in Italy
D-Marin has announced the acquisition of Porto San Rocco Marina Resort in Muggia, near Trieste, expanding its presence in Italy and the Northern Adriatic. The transaction remains subject to regulatory approvals.
The addition will take D-Marin’s Italian portfolio to nine marinas, up from one in 2023. Italy now represents the group’s largest regional portfolio.
Porto San Rocco sits in the Gulf of Trieste, close to the Slovenian and Croatian borders, with access to cruising routes along all three countries’ coastlines. It has 546 berths for yachts from 8 to 60 metres.
Oliver Dörschuck, CEO of D-Marin, says: “Porto San Rocco sits at the gateway between Italy and the wider Adriatic, with the scale to welcome yachts up to 60 metres. It fits naturally with our marinas in Italy and Croatia. We look forward to building on the marina’s strong foundations together with its team and the local community, and bringing D-Marin’s customer-first approach and operational expertise to Muggia.”
The marina is part of a waterfront resort with hotels, restaurants, bars and shops. Other facilities include a swimming pool, a fitness centre, beauty facilities, a fuel station and a conference hall. The area has road, rail, air and sea connections.
Porto San Rocco adds to D-Marin’s Northern Adriatic presence alongside Punta Faro. The company also operates marinas in Liguria, Tuscany and Sardinia, with its Italian locations forming part of its wider Mediterranean network.
D-Marin says it will bring its experience in marina operations and customer service to Porto San Rocco, alongside work on digital technology and sustainable infrastructure. The company describes the acquisition as part of its long-term investment in marina facilities and support for local boating communities.
Intesa Sanpaolo’s IMI CIB Division acted as financial adviser to D-Marin, while Latham & Watkins advised on legal and contractual matters.
