Dates announced for 2023 Palma Int’l Boat Show

The dates for the next edition of the Palma International Boat Show (PIBS) have been confirmed as 27-30 April, 2023.

The 2022 edition of the show, which is one of the first shows to be held each year on the Mediterranean, ran 28 April-1 May. It featured a lineup of 276 participating companies, 21 per cent more than the previous year, along with 264 boats on display at sea. Show organisers Institute for Business Innovation of the Balearic Islands have reported that 32,000 people visited PIBS 2022, twice as many as in 2021.

In a media statement, organisers added: “The event has not only been a great success in terms of exhibitor participation … but it has also performed very well in terms of sales and promotion of the sector, as reflected in public attendance figures, which are equal to those of 2019, when the show ran for an extra day.”

In recent years PIBS has become one of the premier events of the Med’s nautical season, and one of the most important gateways for international companies that want to establish themselves on the Balearic islands, or establish relationships with local firms in order to open up new business opportunities.

The nautical sector is regarded as a strategic sector by the government for the economy of the Balearic Islands, since it generates more than 4,500 direct jobs, is made up of some 650 companies and generates around 840 million euros a year.
