DeepBlue’s PMS earns DNV endorsement

DeepBlue approved DNV PMS module

Yacht software solutions firm DeepBlue has announced DNV type approval for its Planned Maintenance System (PMS) module under certification procedure DNV-CP-0206.

The approval for the Monaco-based company confirms that DeepBlue’s PMS (more information and demos can be requested on Deep Blue’s PMS page) meets the classification society’s technical standards for maintenance reliability, safety and compliance.

The certification requires software to pass stringent performance, reliability and functionality testing. The assessment ensures PMS platforms support classification rules, audit readiness and long-term maintenance record integrity.

For yacht operators, the certification also offers clearer maintenance traceability and can help streamline compliance processes during audits and inspections.

“This certification is more than a badge; it marks an important milestone for DeepBlue and demonstrates that our technology stands up to the same scrutiny our clients navigate daily,” explains Diego Zanco, COO at DeepBlue.

Zanco adds: “We’ve always built with real operational conditions in mind, and this approval from DNV validates that our PMS module meets the level of trust, safety, and performance today’s fleets require.”

Erik Spieler, engineer, machinery and MARPOL, maritime, at DNV AS, comments: “DNV is pleased to award DeepBlue the PMS Type Approval Certificate under our new program, which strengthens standards for functionality, data connectivity, and compliance.

“The PMS module meets DNV’s rigorous requirements and enables standardised maintenance data transfer to DNV, a key step toward industry digitalisation and the future of classification services.”

For operators, the certification assures that the software can be relied on during technical audits and compliance checks. “What this means in real life is: clearer maintenance records, easier inspections, and the reassurance that the system they’re using is built to recognised industry standards. And soon, we’ll be looking to expand that compliance even further,” explains Maks Obelšer, CPO at DeepBlue.

Recent updates to DeepBlue include a new forms module that converts checklists, inspections and drills into auditable digital records, and an upgraded mobile app with biometric authentication, QR code login and improved tools for crew to manage hours, expenses, presence onboard and inventory.
