Digital Yacht launches commercial CLA2000 Class A AIS transponder
Digital Yacht has unveiled a new range of marine electronic products designed for the professional market including super-yacht, commercial shipping, workboat, fishing and naval applications. The first to launch in the Digital Deep Sea branded systems is the CLA2000 Class A AIS transponder.
A Class A AIS transponder is a mandated product for all vessels over 300 GRT and many smaller fishing and workboats. The CLA2000 is IMO/SOLAS approved and also accepted for use on EU Inland Waterways where all vessels over 20m must be equipped with a Class A AIS.
Compact and waterproof, the CLA 2000 features a bright 5″ colour screen to view AIS data such as a target list or plotter display. A simple rotary encoder makes entry of voyage data and vessel status easy plus there’s the option of plug-in, standard C-Map charts if you want a detailed charting background.
It features multiple NMEA 0183 ports, NMEA 2000 connectivity and also a wireless interface so users can integrate with iPads and tablets running navigation software.
It’s been optimised for AIS safety with displays for AIS SART MOB devices for man-over-board alerts as well as ATON (aid to navigation) data.
Installation is said to be easy with no specialist break out box or black box transceiver required.
