Electric propulsion brand Bixpy expands in Europe
Bixpy, a US-based manufacturer of portable electric propulsion systems for kayaks, paddleboards and small watercraft, has appointed Nick Edgington as head of its European operations, as the firm expands in the region.
The company is already established in North America, with operations in the United States and Canada, and has seen steady sales activity across Europe in recent years. The firm says it is now putting in place a more structured growth plan aimed at raising brand visibility and broadening distribution in key European paddle sports markets.
Nick Edgington brings more than 20 years of experience in commercial partnerships and business development in the marine and outdoor sectors.
“Bixpy has already proven itself as a category leader in North America, and the opportunity across Europe is incredibly exciting,” he says. “The paddle sports market continues to evolve, with consumers looking for innovative products that enhance their time on the water. Bixpy’s technology, versatility, and user-friendly design position the brand perfectly to capture this growing demand.”
At the centre of the range is the K-1 Motor System, described as a versatile electric motor platform for paddle sports. It is designed to work with a wide range of mounting configurations and can be integrated with kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, inflatable craft, fishing kayaks and tenders.
The European plan will initially focus on building a network of specialist distributors, retailers and brand ambassadors in selected territories.
“It’s incredibly rewarding to see how much interest Bixpy has generated throughout Europe over the past few years,” says founder Houman Nikmanesh. “We’ve built our reputation by creating innovative products that genuinely enhance people’s experiences on the water, and it’s clear that message is resonating with European paddlers. Bringing Nick on board to lead our growth strategy is a significant milestone for the business.”
