Nimbus Group reveals Sport Tender 35 as first model in new Sport Cruiser 35 series

Nimbus Group has taken the wraps off the Sport Tender 35, a new 10.8-metre model designed to set the tone for an entirely new Sport Cruiser 35 series. Built around a twin-stepped hull and focused on flexible onboard living, the boat is pitched as a crossover between high-performance sport cruiser and weekend-ready living space, with speeds expected to exceed 40 knots.

Sport Cruiser 35 series explained

It’s set to be the signature first model in its new Sport Cruiser 35 series.

That comprises three models on a single hull: the Sport Tender, the Sport Weekender and the Sport Coupé. The Nimbus Sport Tender 35 is the first and will make its world premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September 2026.

It’s built around a newly developed, twin-stepped hull.

At 10.80 metres with a 3.20-metre beam, the 35 sleeps five across two cabins, with a full-length double bed forward, two berths in the mid-cabin and a sofa berth, plus a lavatory with shower. An optional bulkhead and wardrobe close off the fore cabin.

The Sport Tender 35 will make its world debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September 2026, where performance figures and final sea trial data are expected to be confirmed.

Flexible cabins and sleeping layout

“It is a boat you can live on, for a weekend or longer,” says Johan Inden, CEO of Nimbus Group.

“It is the clearest expression yet of the Scandinavian design philosophy Nimbus has followed since 1968, what the company calls Crafted for Living, a boat measured by the life lived on it and around it.”

The boat has two multifunctional decks that reconfigure through the day depending on activity – think swimming or dining. The fore deck combines secure footing for boarding and handling ropes, with two broad sun lounges and seating for eight people. The aft deck centres on a U-sofa for six people with a three-part backrest that folds between sofa, sun bed and facing seats. Fold-out hull-side balconies bring guests down to the water at anchor. A split galley keeps the centre of the boat open for maximum freedom of movement when the canopy is up.

The 35 is offered with a single Mercury V10 or twin V8 outboards. Indicative cruising speed is 30 to 36 knots, rising well above 40 knots with the twin V8. Verified performance figures will follow once sea trials are completed.

“The successful Nimbus 495 Flybridge shows the future trajectory for Nimbus Coupé Cruisers,” says Inden. “In the same way the all-new Sport Tender 35 sets the future direction for our sport cruisers, and it’s the first model in a Sport Cruiser 35 series.

Scandinavian design philosophy

“The 35 is something genuinely new to the market, a sport cruiser with the comfort of a coupé. The boat is more Nimbus than ever, and built on the DNA that has been running through the brand since 1968. I am very proud to bring this boat to the market.”

Nimbus Group’s latest launch comes after a couple of challenging years for the business, marked by softer demand in key markets, dealer stock adjustments, and pressure on margins as the wider leisure marine cycle cooled from its post-pandemic highs.

Like much of the sector, the company has had to tighten operations, manage inventory more carefully, and focus investment on higher-value product areas as consumer spending on discretionary big-ticket items became more selective. Against that backdrop, the new Sport Cruiser 35 platform feels like a clearer return to growth-led thinking, but the real test will be whether Nimbus can convert product momentum into sustained order flow in a market that is still uneven across Europe and North America. In May 2026, the group announced the appointment of Mikael Mårtensson as chief financial officer, with a start date later this year and no later than 1 December 2026.
