British manufacturer Elite Yacht Covers has been appointed exclusive canvas partner to Nautor Swan Global Service, providing bespoke covers, awnings, replacement canvas and aftercare for owners of the Finnish yachtbuilder’s sailing yachts.

The partnership builds on Elite’s existing experience with Swan yachts, with projects spanning models from the Swan 48 to the Swan 128, including the Swan 128 superyacht. The agreement also includes plans to inspect existing canvas at Nautor Swan Global Service’s yards in Badalona, Spain, and Scarlino, Italy, helping owners identify wear and plan maintenance ahead of the next sailing season.

“We’re delighted to partner with Nautor Swan Global Service as its exclusive canvas supplier,” says Paul Gray, sales director at Elite Yacht Covers. “Owners can come directly to us for bespoke new covers and awnings, designed around their yacht and how they use it.”

Canvas inspections and maintenance planning

Alongside new commissions and replacement work, Elite plans to assess existing canvas at the two service yards. Inspections will check stitching and signs of wear, with findings recorded in each yacht’s service file to help owners plan maintenance or replacement.

The aim is to identify potential issues before owners return to using their yachts, rather than waiting for damaged or worn canvas to require attention during the season.

The inspections will take place at Nautor Swan Global Service’s yards in Badalona and Scarlino. Both facilities form part of the builder’s wider service network, supporting owners as their yachts move between cruising grounds and maintenance periods. The partnership also builds on Elite Yacht Covers’ own expansion, including its new base at Hamble Point Marina on the UK south coast.

Elite designs covers to suit individual yachts and their intended use, working with owners and crew to consider fabric choice, shade, protection for furnishings and equipment, handling and stowage. Its process combines digital measurement and computer-aided design (CAD) with bespoke manufacturing.

David Miralta of Nautor Swan Global Service says the partnership will help the service operation provide owners with advice on new canvas and replacement covers, as well as care for existing installations.

International service network

Elite Yacht Covers manufactures bespoke marine canvas for sailing yachts, motor yachts and superyachts. Based in Essex, with a South Coast office at Hamble Point Marina, the company says almost half its work is for yachts in Europe and other international locations.

The new agreement gives Swan owners a direct route to Elite for new canvas, replacement covers and servicing. Owners can contact the manufacturer via email to discuss commissions or arrange an inspection.
