Entropy Resins launches biobased epoxy resin for composite manufacturing

Entropy Resins, a brand of Wessex Resins and Adhesives, has launched BIOinfusion, a new epoxy resin system designed for composite manufacturing.
Wessex Resins and Adhesives, which manufactures and distributes West System, Pro-Set, and Entropy Resins epoxy products across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, says BIOinfusion contains 32 per cent biobased content and serves as an alternative to fully petroleum-derived resins.
BIOinfusion is formulated using renewable resources while maintaining the strength and durability associated with Entropy Resins products. It is designed to integrate into existing manufacturing processes without affecting the performance of the final composite material.
“We are very pleased to introduce BIOinfusion to the market,” says Sam Oliver, operations director at Wessex Resins and Adhesives. “This biobased epoxy resin system represents a significant milestone for the composite manufacturing industry. By providing a high-performance, sustainable solution, BIOinfusion enables manufacturers to reduce their environmental impact while maintaining the exceptional quality they require.”
The resin is suitable for applications across multiple industries, including automotive, wind energy, construction, marine and consumer goods. It is designed to support lightweight structural components while offering durability in demanding environments.
BIOinfusion features a simple mixing ratio and improved air release properties, contributing to streamlined production processes. It also demonstrates high-temperature stability and has a long shelf life to help ensure reliable performance throughout the manufacturing cycle.
The industry is increasingly focused on sustainable and environmentally responsible materials. By offering an alternative to petroleum-based resins, Entropy Resins says it aims to support manufacturers in adopting more sustainable production methods while maintaining product performance.
BIOinfusion and other sustainable epoxy solutions from Entropy Resins will be showcased at JEC World in Paris until 6 March 2025, at Booth 5F31, where company representatives will be available to discuss project requirements.
