Chinese-Hong Kong electric outboard manufacturer ePropulsion has appointed KGK Motor AB as its distributor in Sweden.

KGK Motor AB has a network of 107 marine dealers across Sweden.

“It’s great to be entering this new partnership with ePropulsion, a company that we see going from strength to strength in Sweden,” says Niklas Lindell, CEO of KGK Motor AB. “We’re excited to be part of the rise in more sustainable boating, and we’re looking forward to growing the market and benefitting our customers who are interested in using environmentally friendly, innovative equipment.”

ePropulsion says the country is an important part of its growth in Europe, owing to the appetite from customers looking for more sustainable boating options.

The company has also relocated its chief marketing officer, Chang Zhao, to Sweden.

“Sweden is a strategic market for ePropulsion and one we are excited to expand,” says Chang. “I’m looking forward to seeing our products take off firsthand, and I am confident that the partnership between ePropulsion and KGK Motor AB will flourish.”

Danny Tao, co-founder and CEO of ePropulsion, adds: “We are thrilled to announce our new partnership with KGK Motor AB in Sweden, an important market for ePropulsion and an area [where] we see lots of potential for growth with an increasing number of boat owners converting to electric outboards. We’re excited to welcome the team to our distributor network and offer our products to this market.”

ePropulsion has recently opened a new research and development centre in Shanghai. The new facility will focus on the research of boat energy systems and electric propulsion systems based on the company’s portfolio of products, which are all developed in-house.
