ePropulsion enters kayak market with kLite 750 electric outboard

Kayak slim vertical motor

Marine electric propulsion specialist ePropulsion is entering the kayak market with its kLite 750 electric outboard.

Building on the technology developed for its portable eLite model, the kLite 750 is designed to deliver high performance in a lightweight, compact package tailored specifically for recreational and fishing kayaks.

Weighing less than 6.8kg and featuring an integrated 378Wh battery, the new outboard focuses on portability and ease of use. For extended range, optional accessories allow for on-water recharging from third-party batteries.

Adaptable power modes

Epropulsion’s kLite 750 features three operational modes to suit varying on-water requirements:

  • Go mode: Delivers 500W of continuous power for standard cruising.
  • Sport burst mode: Provides a temporary boost up to 750W for up to 60 seconds when extra performance or acceleration is required.
  • Fish mode: Offers refined, low-speed control for precise manoeuvring and tracking.

Designed to help anglers access waters that larger craft cannot reach, the kLite 750 can operate in drafts of less than 18cm, with adjustable settings for deeper conditions. Its rudder-shaped housing ensures steering control remains active even when the throttle is not engaged.

A spring-tensioned mechanism delivers up to 300W of reverse power while helping to prevent disturbance in the water. The system also gives way smoothly if it encounters underwater obstacles, rocks or during manual lifting.

A separate display is designed to keep key information clearly visible while allowing users to keep focus on the water. The sun-shaded colour monitor can be mounted on a console, deck or track system, while the low-profile throttle is designed for comfortable operation without restricting movement.

To install, users attach the motor and connect the steering lines and cables.

“The response when we first introduced the kLite concept was incredibly encouraging,” says Tom Watson, president of ePropulsion Americas. “The eLite has transformed electric propulsion for tenders and small craft, and we believe the kLite 750 will open up new possibilities for kayak anglers looking for a lightweight, efficient and e asy-to-use propulsion solution.”

The kLite 750 will be officially launched at ICAST 2026 fishing and tackle trade show in Orlando, Florida, from 14 to 17 July 2026.

The kLite 750 will be available first in the US through authorised ePropulsion dealers from August 2026, before rolling out to additional markets worldwide.
