ePropulsion debuts Smart Control Joystick at IBEX
ePropulsion’s Smart Control Joystick has 10 intensity modes
ePropulsion has added to its existing electric propulsion product portfolio with its new Smart Control Joystick. The helm control system was showcased at the recent IBEX 2025 and is designed to provide 360-degree manoeuvrability for a range of electric-powered vessels.
The Smart Control Joystick can be used across the firm’s electric propulsion lineup, including the X-Series outboards and forthcoming Pod Drives. The system supports various vessel configurations, from single motor setups to dual inboards and boats equipped with bow thrusters – enabling lateral and rotational movements.
Designed for plug-and-play connectivity, the installation is through ePropulsion’s EP-CAN network without the need for any additional setup requirements.
Operators can select from ten joystick intensity modes, such as docking mode for manoeuvring and boost mode for responsiveness. Additional features include position hold and heading hold functions.
According to ePropulsion co-founder and CEO Danny Tao, the joystick is intended to deliver “advanced manoeuvrability, ergonomic single-hand control, and seamless integration” for a wide variety of electric vessels.
Tao adds: “Delivering full 360-degree control through precise movements, this control system enhances flexibility and safety on the water, while enabling boaters to feel confident under any conditions. We’re excited to bring these new capabilities to a diverse range of vessels using ePropulsion’s revolutionary lineup of electric propulsion solutions.”
