ePropulsion reports 40% YoY sales increase

ePropulsion distributor meeting

Electric propulsion manufacturer, ePropulsion, has reported a 40 per cent year-on-year increase in sales for 2024.

The company says its significant global growth has been driven by the successful launch and adoption of its new electric outboard platforms, including the eLite and X Series.

The performance update was given during ePropulsion’s annual global distributor meeting. In north America the company realised a 22 per cent increase in sales, 25 per cent growth in new dealer locations, and 33 per cent growth in new OEM partnerships.

ePropulsion has sold more than 7,000 units of the eLite since its debut in January 2024, making it one of the most successful product introductions in the company’s history.

“We’re excited and very grateful for the continuously growing interest in ePropulsion at both the dealer and OEM levels,” says Danny Tao, co-founder and CEO of ePropulsion. “On behalf of everyone at ePropulsion, I want to thank all of our industry partners for leading us to continued growth as we bring more sustainable products to boating. We’re looking forward to another successful year in 2025.”

The most compact and lightweight electric outboard in its class, the eLite 500W electric outboard measures 3ft in length and weighs 14.7lbs including the built-in battery.

As part of the distributor meeting, ePropulsion also took its partners to visit a flagship electrification project on the Li River in southwest China. Working in close partnership with the local government, ePropulsion has developed a custom electric propulsion solution known as the longtail motor, for over 2,000 bamboo sightseeing rafts that were previously powered by combustion engines. The project, which has already electrified over 1,000 rafts, is significantly reducing air, water, and noise pollution with each raft now operating at under 60 decibels, down from more than 120.
