ePropulsion to power Maxima Boats tenders
ePropulsion Americas, a provider of marine electric propulsion systems, has announced that its Navy 6.0 Evo and X12 motors have been chosen to power Maxima Boats’ 620 and 630 sloop tenders.
The firm says these models are designed to combine traditional aesthetics with modern features.
The Maxima 620 and 630 feature a smooth hull shape, a rope fender and an integrated swim platform. The swim platform facilitates boarding and disembarking and shields against the motor’s propeller while the motor, mounted in a dedicated well, provides quiet operation. Stability and visibility are prioritised and supported by an underwater hull design to enhance efficiency and comfort during cruising.
“The Maxima line of tenders have a unique aesthetic that sets them apart from other vessels in their class, and the thoughtful design is maximised for safe and easy cruising,” says Tom Watson, president of ePropulsion Americas. “We know Maxima customers will enjoy the quiet performance and reliability that comes from pairing the Maxima line with the proven Navy Evo electric outboard.”
The Navy 6.0 Evo offers 6kW of power and features a brushless direct-drive motor designed for reliability and low noise. The X12 provides 12kW of power and includes a fully integrated design that combines electric steering, power trim/tilt, an electric control unit, and a controller within one compact assembly. This configuration is intended to simplify installation and optimise onboard space.
In December 2024, ePropulsion Americas announced the launch of the Seaview 50 catamaran, developed in partnership with China’s Heysea Yachts. In September, ePropulsion Americas joined forces with Canada-headquartered electric boatbuilder Vision Marine Technologies to supply electric propulsion systems for Vision Marine’s vessels.
