Ewincher releases new model

French Manufacturer, Ewincher has released a new model of its electric winch handle.

The lightweight (2.2kg) Ewincher 2 is said to be faster and more powerful than its predecessor, offering increased autonomy and a 20% boost in performance.

Designed to be an alternative to an electric winch, the Ewincher has three operating modes (electric, manual and combined) and, with a 450W battery and a patented efficient motor, it is said to give 230W and 90Nm of torque at the winch tip, affording it the ability to trim a 160 m² spinnaker.

The removable lithium-ion 25.2V battery can be charged in one and a half hours either on a 12V or 110/220V system, with its capacity sufficient for a day’s sailing on boats up to 45 feet.

The variable speeds (100rpm in electric mode up to 160rpm in combined mode) facilitate control of manoeuvres, and with the intention of further avoiding damage or injury onboard, the Ewincher is equipped with a sensitive torque limiter, which can be adjusted from a smartphone.

The Ewincher is for use on boats up to 60 feet, no installation is necessary.

The Ewincher retail pack includes the handle, a battery, 110-220V charger, 12V converter, a handle pocket, a safety hand strap and a carrying bag.

Available in the UK now from Ocean Chandlery.
