The Chinese electric propulsion manufacturer ExploMar has announced its high-powered electric outboards are now fully compatible with the Aqua superPower global marine fast-charging network.

The move marks another step in facilitating the ongoing transition in the marine sector to adopt more sustainable propulsion, offering a seamless, plug-and-play charging solution for electric vessels across a growing number of global ports and marinas.

The new OEM partnership means ExploMar’s flagship outboards – including the WAVE 300, WAVE 150+, and WAVE 70+ – alongside its Super/Island battery platform and semi-solid battery technology, are fully integrated with Aqua superPower’s marine-specific infrastructure. A growing network which includes over 59 active fast-charging sites across Europe and North America, with DC charging capabilities of up to 250 kW.

The collaboration was successfully demonstrated at two significant events this year. At the Venice Boat Show 2025, ExploMar’s 300 hp electric outboard was paired with Aqua’s 75 kW DC charger. And at the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge, the same propulsion system was charged rapidly using Aqua’s 200 kW ultra-fast station, proving performance and reliability under real-world, high-demand conditions.

“At Aqua superPower, we’re committed to collaborating closely with OEMs to create a robust, marine-specific charging ecosystem that powers the future of electric boating,” comments Karen Gill, COO of Aqua superPower.

“Our partnership with ExploMar ensures their customers enjoy a seamless, user-friendly charging experience, backed by our global network and 24/7 support. By integrating ExploMar’s high-performance outboards with our scalable infrastructure, we’re accelerating decarbonization and making sustainable marine mobility accessible to all,” adds Gill. Jonathan Wang, sales director of ExploMar, comments: “At ExploMar, we believe the future of boating is electric – and not just in terms of propulsion, but the entire user ecosystem. Working with Aqua superPower ensures our users enjoy a truly seamless and reliable electric boating experience.”
