Ferretti Group has received approval to expand its Ancona Superyacht Yard, allowing it to build yachts up to 100 metres rather than the current limit of 90 metres. The work will extend one of the yard’s existing production facilities and is expected to take around six months.

The approval is the first issued in the Port of Ancona under the ZES (Special Economic Zone) single-authorisation framework since the measures were extended to the Marche region. The process took 54 days.

Ferretti Group estimates the project’s initial economic impact on the local area at approximately €30m. The Ancona yard covers almost 80,000 square metres and is one of the group’s superyacht manufacturing sites. The extension will give it room to build larger yachts.

“This is exactly what I want Ferretti Group to stand for: ambition, speed and execution,” says Stassi Anastassov, global CEO of Ferretti Group. “In just 54 days, we secured the authorisation to take our Ancona shipyard to the next level. This is what happens when industry and institutions share the same determination to move forward.

“But our ambition is not simply to build bigger yachts. It is to build the world’s most desirable yachts – setting new standards in design, quality, technology and innovation. And we want to do it here, in Italy. ‘Made in Italy’ is not a marketing slogan for Ferretti Group. It is our identity, our heritage and our future.

“The Ancona Superyacht Yard is a remarkable centre of shipbuilding expertise, and this expansion is another step towards unlocking its full potential.”

The project forms part of Ferretti Group’s continued investment in manufacturing in Italy, where its shipyards work with a network of suppliers and specialist contractors.

Giosy Romano, single coordinator of the ZES for the Mezzogiorno, and Mirco Carloni, president of the Central Adriatic Sea Port System Authority, signed the authorisation on 21 October 2026. The process involved cooperation between the public authorities, supported by the Marche regional government and the Municipality of Ancona. Those involved included regional president Francesco Acquaroli and regional councillor for industry Gino Brugaro.

Ferretti Group designs, builds and sells yachts from 8 to 95 metres through its brands Ferretti Yachts, Riva, Pershing, Itama, CRN, Custom Line and Wally. It owns and manages seven Italian shipyards and has a direct presence in Europe, the US and Asia. Together, its dealer network and direct operations serve customers in more than 70 countries.
