Flexiteek earns global sustainability rating

Synthetic marine decking manufacturer Flexiteek International has received a silver EcoVadis sustainability rating for 2025-2026, placing it among the top 15 per cent of companies assessed globally by the organisation.
The updated rating follows the introduction of the bio-attributed Flexiteek 3 decking range, launched in November 2024 at Metstrade.
EcoVadis is an independent platform that evaluates corporate performance in areas including environment, labour and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement. Its assessments are designed to provide transparency and drive improvements across supply chains.
Flexiteek Group CEO, Adam Ramsden, says: “This achievement reflects the strength of our evolving sustainability management system and product range and our ongoing commitment to transparency and responsible business practices across the company. But we still have a way to go on our journey, and we are confident we will continue to strive for excellence.”
Flexiteek began its EcoVadis assessments in 2023. The company has introduced a range of sustainability initiatives, including recycling more than 80 per cent of the water used in the product cooling process and repurposing waste materials. At its Fagersta site in Sweden, the business uses ground source heat pumps, solar panels and energy storage systems. Other measures include the use of EV charging points, energy-efficient lighting and sourcing from responsible energy suppliers.
EcoVadis, which had assessed over 130,000 companies across more than 180 countries and 220 industries as of early 2024, is recognised as one of the most widely used sustainability rating providers worldwide.
Flexiteek has produced synthetic decking and marine products since 2000. Its third-generation product, Flexiteek 3, is made using bio-attributed PVC, removing fossil fuel-based content from the formulation. It offers improved heat performance and retains the core features of previous ranges. The product is available in fifteen colour options, including the Tritone line, which comprises six darker wood and monochrome tones. Customers can also choose from three caulking colours: cool white, contemporary grey and traditional black.
Flexiteek is also the parent company of Wilks, a UK-based manufacturer of marine fendering solutions that has been in operation for over 50 years.
