Flux Marine recruits Chris Ponnwitz as senior field sales manager
Flux Marine, which specialises in electric outboard motors and integrated battery systems, has recruited Chris Ponnwitz as senior field sales manager.
Ponnwitz joins from Mack Boring, the century-old marine propulsion distributor and Yanmar’s longest-serving US distributor, where he spent ten years, most recently as chief commercial officer of Mack Sustainable Energy, the company’s electric propulsion division. He was also named in MIN’s recent article on visionary leaders and ones to watch in the marine industry.
Ponnwitz undertook his new role on 20 August, joining the sales team for Flux Marine, with responsibility for revenue growth across boatbuilder partnerships, dealer network expansion, and direct and commercial sales channels. He’ll play an integral role in new business development, representing Flux Marine at industry events and boat shows.
In 2025, Flux Marine announced a $15m funding injection to scale production of its all-electric marine outboards and expand sales of its core technology.

The hire adds senior sales leadership as Flux Marine continues to grow its network of boatbuilder partners, dealers, and commercial customers across North America and Europe.
