GMBA appoints new consultants for Finland

Global Marine Business Advisors (GMBA) has appointed Juhani Haapaniemi and Elina Viitanen as its representatives in Finland. Together, they have more than 65 years of experience in the marine and tourism industries.

GMBA describes itself as a network of independent consultants with senior-level experience across the marine industry, with members based in more than 20 countries.

Viitanen (pictured above) has over 30 years of experience in strategic marketing and communications, with a focus on building international boating and tourism brands. She has directed marketing campaigns, overseen dealer networks and organised major boat shows and product launches in Europe. Her background includes positions at Yamaha Motor Europe, Branch Finland, Finnmaster Boats and international education export programmes.

Haapaniemi has held senior positions in the Finnish and international boating sectors for over four decades. He co-founded Silver Boats and has managed business development, production and international marketing for brands including Buster, Fiskars and Finnmaster. His work has focused on corporate leadership, strategic growth and export development. Beyond boatbuilding, he has also been involved in tourism and hospitality projects.

The pair have collaborated for nearly 15 years through their consultancy, PookiPro Management, which has carried out more than 300 projects ranging from national research to global marketing campaigns.
