GN Espace introduces OceanChef 3 induction cooker to galley line-up

UK-based galley company, GN Espace has introduced its most advanced onboard cooker to date, the OceanChef 3 Induction Cooker. The company says the combined oven and hob, which are also both available as separate built-in units, is an ideal solution for boat owners looking to go fully electric on board.

This dedicated gimballed electric marine cooker combines the benefits of induction cooking on the hob with the practical features of a multifunction oven.

The three-zone hob has multiple features designed to make cooking easier, including a 2.5kW boost function.  There’s room for three pans to be safely clamped, or users can choose the dual zone bridge function for large fish-kettle cooking.

Fully insulated, the fast-heating, Gastronorm-based multifunction oven combines with the hob’s energy management system to ensure a maximum load for the cooker of only 4.9kW. It has a fan heating element that ensures even heat distribution throughout the oven and a flush fitting grill gives extra height in the oven, designed to enable cooking on three levels at once. The cookware is held safely in place by the oven frame which also has a safety stop to avoid hot food accidentally sliding out of the oven when the door is opened.

A unique ECO Fan setting reaches 180°C in less than half the time it takes for a traditional electric oven to reach its higher equivalent temperature, saving time and valuable electricity, although the thermostat allows for a top temperature of 250 degrees..

The OceanChef 3 Induction Cooker dimensions are W50cm H48.7cm D51.4cm and it’s this compact profile and the marine safety features which the company says make it suitable for galleys in a wide range of sailing and motor vessels.

The OceanChef 3 Induction Cooker, along with the separate built-in OceanChef electric Oven and the Three-Zone Built-In Induction Hob, are available direct from GN Espace to boat-builders and end users alike.
