Greenline confirms new 50ft model to replace Greenline 48
Greenline Yachts has released details of the Greenline 50, a new 50ft model that will replace the Greenline 48 in its range of hybrid cruising yachts.
Slovenian shipyard Greenline says the new 50ft model is aimed at the same market segment as its predecessor, while introducing updated styling, slightly larger dimensions and a number of new features.
The first hull is nearing completion and is scheduled to launch in Portorož, Slovenia, in late summer.
“I am very proud to be so close to launching the new Greenline 50,” says Greenline Yachts owner Vladimir Zinchenko. “It has always been part of our philosophy to build timeless boats on a robust, proven technical platform, so that each model has a long lifespan.
“The launch of a new model is therefore a rare occurrence at Greenline Yachts, and the occasion of mixed emotions as we bid farewell to a familiar friend. However, we have done a fantastic job with the Greenline 50, and I am certain that she will still form a key part of our range in a decade’s time.”
The Greenline 50 retains several features seen across the builder’s existing range, including high bulwarks and hybrid propulsion options. The accommodation layout comprises three cabins, which can be configured with either twin or double berths, together with up to three bathrooms.
The aft deck has been reworked to provide greater flexibility. Owners can choose between a large storage compartment for a tender and watersports equipment or a crew cabin. In the storage configuration, the aft seating section lifts to provide access from the bathing platform. When specified as crew accommodation, alterations to the transom arrangement create standing headroom below deck.
The first Greenline 50 is being built as a flybridge model. The vessel combines battery storage and solar panels with either Greenline’s 6G hybrid propulsion system or diesel engines. Depending on operating conditions, onboard systems can operate on electric power for extended periods.
Like the Greenline 45 and Greenline 58, the Greenline 50 will also be offered with a flybridge. This version incorporates an upper helm station, seating area, table and a port-side fridge and wet bar.
“Greenline’s new models are proving to be a real success story,” says Alessandro Lorenzon, global business director at Greenline Yachts. “They have introduced a new awareness of the way spaces on board add value to the boating experience and spurred us to ever greater efforts in terms of interior finish. It was high time that our mid-range boat received this treatment, and so the Greenline 50 was born.”
