Groupe Beneteau completes sale of Bio Habitat division to Trigano

Groupe Beneteau has completed the sale of of its subsidiary Bio Habitat to Trigano, a French group that makes recreational vehicles and leisure equipment. 

French boating giant Groupe Beneteau received approval from the French Competition Authority at the end of October 2024 for the sale of Bio Habitat, which includes the O’Hara, IRM, and Coco Sweet brands, along with all its employees in France and Italy. In line with the announced schedule, the transaction was completed on 30 November 2024.

“I would like to pay tribute once again to the work accomplished by the teams of the Habitat division since its creation in 1994,” says Bruno Thivoyon, chief executive officer of Groupe Beneteau. “A French family owned group, with its experience in vehicles and leisure equipment, Trigano is the ideal partner to enable the O’Hara, IRM and Coco Sweet brands to accelerate their development on European markets.”

Founded in Vendée 140 years ago, Groupe Beneteau is an international leader in recreational boating, offering over 135 boat models through nine brands. In 2023, the group posted €1.785bn turnover and employed nearly 8,000 people across multiple countries, including France, the United States, and Poland.

Since its establishment in 2007, Bio Habitat has created a range of environmentally responsible mobile homes under the IRM, O’Hara, and Coco Sweet brands. Employing 900 people in France and Italy, the division generated €320m in turnover in 2023, representing 18 per cent of Groupe Beneteau’s revenue.
