Havn app launches to support yacht crew wellbeing

Havn, a new app for superyacht crew, has launched. The app, which intends to improve wellbeing and provide access to trusted resources in ports worldwide, functions as a central hub, connecting crew to vetted providers, services and events.
The app was created by Michael Davies, a former crew member with over a decade of experience on a range of vessels, including classic sailing yachts, 45m motor yachts and the Clipper Round the World Race. He says his career at sea and extensive travel provided first-hand insight into the challenges crew face when away from home.
“I’ve spent most of my life at sea,” explains Davies. “I started with my first job on a classic 12m sailing yacht, and after three years, I was managing crews on 45m superyachts.
“Later, I worked as a mate for the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race. Having seen the struggles of finding trusted support in foreign ports, I wanted to create a tool that makes that process easier for crew.”

The app is designed to address the pressures of yacht life. “Being a crew member isn’t just a job, it’s a lifestyle, and it comes with unique pressures,” Davies says.
“We move between countries constantly, often without the networks or knowledge of what’s available locally. Havn solves that by being a single, reliable hub that connects crew to vetted services, so they can spend less time worrying and more time enjoying life ashore.”
Havn is designed to help crew access services related to health, fitness, wellbeing and cultural activities, as well as everyday needs such as gyms, therapists, doctors and local events. The app also features industry news, articles, discounts with partners and access to resources, including CV reviews and contract tools.
“The mission is to be trusted by yacht crew as their concierge service and provider for their life in the industry,” Davies adds. “The aim is simple: to support yacht crew in every aspect of their well-being, from a new deckhand to a seasoned captain.”
The company is now planning to expand its partner network across key Mediterranean ports, including Palma, Antibes and Barcelona, with a view to a wider rollout in the coming year.

“Havn isn’t about job listings or gossip boards,” Davies says. “It’s about lifestyle, support and wellbeing. We connect crew to the best providers for their situation, all in one place, and every conversation with crew members reinforces that Havn is something the industry genuinely needs.”
A launch event is scheduled for 19 October 2025 at Terreno Club in Palma, Mallorca. Crew attending will be able to take part in wellbeing activities such as ice baths and a padél tournament. The first 100 crew members to sign up at the event will receive early access to the platform and provide feedback ahead of the broader release.
