Hertz Marine launches hideaway source unit for stereo platform

Hertz Marine has introduced Capri Hbb, a stealth-mounted evolution of its Capri stereo platform. It offers installers and boat builders freedom to position the source unit out of sight.
The company says that this is the world’s first hi-res certified, NMEA 2000 compatible marine source unit with integrated A2B technology, and it delivers pure digital audio, flexibility, and streamlined installation.
“We’re empowering installers and OEMs to deliver seamless system integration, uncompromised sound, and a truly clean helm design,” says Pietro Pantaleone, president of Elettromedia, parent of the Italian brand. “It is the perfect fusion of cutting-edge technology and flexible installation.”
Recently Silvio Pupino, director of marine sales for Hertz Marine, told MIN that audio shouldn’t be seen as a simple add-on. “Marine audio is no longer just an accessory as it is becoming a signature part of the ownership experience. Whether you’re on a wake boat, a centre console or a pontoon, great sound isn’t just about listening, it’s about how it makes you feel on the water.”
Capri Hbb shares the audiophile-grade DNA of the original Capri including 24-bit/96 kHz playback and multi-zone control. It has scalable system architecture – builders can expand zones and components without major rewiring and transfers high-resolution signal and control data (A2B) without the need for RCA cables. Plus it’s all-audio digital design minimises EMI interference onboard.
With four fully independent audio zones, each equipped with stereo outputs, subwoofer control, and an 8-band parametric EQ, the latest iteration allows users to tailor every area of the vessel for optimal performance. Bluetooth 5.1 streaming (with LDAC, aptX HD, AAC), USB, DAB+, and AM/FM/WB tuner inputs ensure complete entertainment versatility, says Hertz.
Capri Hbb (MSRP: $765) is available through authorised Hertz Marine distributors and OEM partners worldwide
