Icom announces five-year warranty on all VHF leisure products bought at SIBS

Icom says it’s showing ground breaking products at this year’s SIBS, coupled with a 5-year warranty on all its VHF leisure products.

It’s launching its new IC-M510, at the show and says that this stylish, advanced VHF/DSC marine radio offers smartphone control of the radio using the RS-M500 app (iOS/Android). Up to three smartphones can act as remote controllers via the radio’s WLAN. It is even possible to have an intercom function between the smartphones and the radio.

The optional CT-M500 interface box means NMEA2000 connectivity is gained and a two-way hailer/foghorn function. The CT-M500 connects to M510 wirelessly, keeping installation flexible.

Also on show will be the recently launched IC-M94DE, the first handheld VHF marine radio with a dedicated AIS receiver. The IC-M94DE provides vessel traffic information shown on the radio’s large clear display. With its elegant design and abundance of simple to use features, this is said to be a game-changing device for anyone who ventures out to sea for recreation or work.

Icom’s display (stand E030) will also include buoyant handheld VHF, VHF/DSC fixed radios, HF/SSB marine radios, AIS products and marine base stations.
