Inland and Coastal to showcase pontoon systems at SIBS 2026
Inland and Coastal will also take part in daily exhibitor drinks and hub talks at the TYHA stand
Inland and Coastal will return to the Southampton International Boat Show (SIBS) from 18 to 27 September, where it will showcase pontoon systems designed for a range of marina and waterfront uses.
The company will share stand H208 with The Yacht Harbour Association (TYHA) in the New Wave Hall. Its display will include an oyster reef pontoon, Living Seawalls panels and Glassfibre Reinforced Concrete (GRC) decking.
The oyster pontoon was developed on behalf of Ulster Wildlife as a floating platform for native oyster reef restoration. The system uses pontoon infrastructure to provide additional marine habitat while retaining its function as a platform for accessing and mooring boats.
Living Seawalls panels can be incorporated into harbour walls to provide habitat for invertebrates, seaweeds, small fish and other marine fauna. The panels add ecological features to existing waterfront infrastructure.
Inland and Coastal will also display its GRC pontoon decking. The material is designed for marine environments and provides a hard-wearing surface with resistance to wear and limited maintenance requirements.
“Pontoons have traditionally been viewed primarily as infrastructure for accessing and mooring boats, but there is so much more that can be achieved with a well-designed system,” says Jon Challis, head of business development at Inland and Coastal.
“From supporting oyster reef restoration and creating additional marine habitat to providing a highly durable surface that can withstand the demands of a busy marina, we’re increasingly seeing opportunities to make waterfront infrastructure work harder. SIBS is a great opportunity to demonstrate what is possible and talk to customers about how these ideas could work within their own projects.”
Inland and Coastal will also take part in daily exhibitor drinks and hub talks at the TYHA stand. The company will host a hub talk on Tuesday 22 September about how pontoon design can help marinas get more from their waterfront infrastructure.
Inland and Coastal has more than 20 years’ experience designing and supplying pontoons, gangways and water access systems for marinas, harbours and inland waterways.
The team will discuss projects including marina expansions, new developments, the installation of Living Seawalls panels and upgrades to existing pontoon systems.
