Lumitec launches new full-colour courtesy light

Lumitec, manufacturer of extreme environment LED lighting solutions, has launched a Fiji Courtesy Light.

Lumitec says courtesy and accent lights are both functional and aesthetic, but their small size and relatively low cost typically limits two-wire units to a single-colour output. While full-colour lights offer customers more features, they require four or five wires, adding complexity, cost, and increased installation time.

The new Fiji Courtesy Light from Lumitec is a full-colour, two-wire courtesy light designed to be used in conjunction with a Lumitec Poco module (sold separately) to provide unlimited colour options via a compatible multi-function display (MFD) or connected smart device. Fiji utilises the company’s power line instruction (PLI) technology making it fully compatible with the Poco Digital Lighting Control system. This means fewer wire runs and connections, saving on both material costs and installation time, while retaining the features of a full-colour light.

Fiji can utilise the boat’s existing wiring harness using the Poco system’s ability to create ‘virtual circuits’, allowing different Lumitec light families to share a hard circuit yet receive separate colour commands from the Poco module.

“The new Fiji courtesy light is a win for both boat owners and boat builders,” explains Chris Fulmer, president of Lumitec. “The Fiji’s full-colour spectrum includes an intense true white emitter not found in other courtesy lights, offering the boat owner unsurpassed light output quality. Boat builders are excited because the 2-wire connection means a greater than 50 per cent saving on time and materials.”

The Fiji Courtesy Light has a small footprint, no exposed fasteners, and a contemporary design. It is available with a direct or indirect light beam pattern for all lighting situations, in a choice of stainless steel, white or black finish.

Earlier this year, Lumitec appointed Global Distribution Solutions (GDS Ltd) as its European sales agent and UK distributor for Lumitec products.
