MAN to launch ‘next generation’ engines at Cannes

Man Engines V12X

MAN Engines plans to launch its latest product, the V12X engine, at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2022 this September.

Following on from its most powerful 12-cylinder engine yet, with 2000hp, the MAN V12X boasts 30-litre displacement and 2200hp (1618kW) at 2,300rpm.

“The MAN V12X marks the start of the next generation of yacht engines,” says Werner Kübler, head of engineering at MAN Engines. “We are acknowledging this milestone in engine technology with the new name V12X and giving the distinctive engine cover an X design.

“The redesign of the MAN V12X is accompanied by extra displacement for shipyards. As always, we have retained the excellent power-to-weight ratio that MAN engines are known for.”

The first example of the MAN V12X will be on display from 6 to 11 September at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2022 at the MAN Engines stand, Jetée 173, Vieux Port.
