Marine Components International, a UK-based distributor of maritime products, has been appointed as the international distributor for Seascour across the EMEA region.

The Dorset-based company will now handle the distribution of the marine descaling product Seascour, adding it to an existing portfolio of equipment and components for maritime and industrial applications.

Seascour is formulated to remove biofouling from onboard systems exposed to seawater, a common issue in marine operations. Target applications include marine heat exchangers, engine water jackets, refrigeration and HVAC systems, cooling circuits, boilers, hot water systems, pumps, compressors and desalination units.

The product meets Environmental Protection Agency Safer Choice criteria for use outside. It is described as non-corrosive to metals, organic in composition, non-toxic and biodegradable, with reduced impact on aquatic life compared with conventional alternatives.

Kelly Hendry, Seascour president, says: “Marine Components International Limited were the strongest candidates due to their industry knowledge, technical expertise and their extensive network; they are exactly what we were looking for in a distributor. This agreement will enhance the availability of Seascour across the region, delivering faster access, expert support and a reliable supply, backed by their exceptional customer service.”

According to the manufacturer, the formulation can be reused up to four times. It is also intended to reduce maintenance downtime by allowing cleaning processes to be carried out without requiring dry docking, which can limit operational disruption.

“Choosing Seascour is a clear and compelling choice for commercial shipping, workboats, superyachts, windfarms and all equipment that spends prolonged time in contact with seawater,” says Andrew Scott, managing director of Marine Components International. “Customers are conscientiously seeking better and more efficient ways of going about everyday maintenance, and this makes the descaling task not just quicker and more cost-effective, but one that is safer to use for employees and that has no impact on the environment. Based on the data, this really might be the most appropriate answer to solving your biofouling on the market.”

Seascour is scheduled to be presented in the EMEA market at Seawork International in Southampton, taking place from 9- 11 June 2026, marking its regional debut.

Marine Components International, established in Poole, Dorset in 1990, provides import, warehousing, distribution, sales and technical support services for marine sector clients across the UK and Europe.
