MarineMax expands role of chief digital officer Shawn Berg

MarineMax has confirmed an expanded role for executive vice president and chief digital officer Shawn Berg, who will now support the company’s global strategic growth and innovation initiatives.
Berg joined MarineMax in 2017 as vice president of technology and became chief digital officer in 2019. In 2022, the firm appointed him as an executive officer. Berg has more than 30 years of experience in the marine, automotive and retail sectors, including officer-level roles focused on finance, insurance, distribution, service and supply chain operations.
“Shawn’s leadership, strategic perspective, and clear understanding of the industry make him well-suited for this expanded role,” says Brett McGill, MarineMax’s chief executive officer and president. “By giving Shawn the added responsibility for coordinating strategic growth initiatives across all of our global divisions, we are advancing the company’s commitment to delivering industry-leading customer experiences and sustainable financial performance.”
MarineMax says its growth strategy includes a focus on acquisitions, digital transformation, and service development. In his expanded remit, Berg will work to refine and implement this roadmap with an emphasis on operational efficiency, geographic expansion and integrated customer offerings.
“I am honoured to take on this expanded role to help advance MarineMax’s long-term growth,” says Berg. “I look forward to working with the team to deliver enhanced value to our customers, partners, and shareholders.”
MarineMax operates more than 120 locations globally, including over 70 dealerships and 65 marinas and storage facilities. Its portfolio includes IGY Marinas, Fraser Yachts Group, Northrop & Johnson, Cruisers Yachts, Aviara, Intrepid Powerboats and the charter operator MarineMax Vacations.
The firm also offers insurance and finance services, alongside digital products such as Boatyard and Boatzon, which connect users with marinas and marine professionals.
