New 2026 cruising guides announced by Imray
Imray’s 2026 publishing programme continues with
a series of updated and new cruising guides
Marine publisher FB Imray has announced further titles in its 2026 cruising guide programme, covering the English Channel, the Solent and the Adriatic.
Scheduled for publication in April and May 2026, the new editions bring together pilotage information, updated cruising data and revised editorial input intended to support seasonal passage planning.
Imray is a storied nautical information publisher that has produced nautical guides and paper charts since the mid-eighteenth century. In 2024, the firm announced it would be phasing out its chart publishing, citing the growing trend for digital navigation in the maritime sector. It also put its charts business up for sale at the same time, calling on potential buyers interested in preserving its legacy.
In 2025, Imray formed a joint venture with Austrian publisher Freytag and Berndt, ensuring it could continue producing and developing nautical charts, books and digital navigation products.
Imray charts produced by FB Imray have been formally recognised by the UK’s Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) as approved for navigation, allowing operators of coded vessels under 24 metres to continue meeting UK carriage requirements using the brand’s products.

Solent Harbours (1st edition)
This new title by Tim Stickley offers a compact guide to a heavily trafficked UK sailing area. It covers harbours and anchorages from Southampton and Portsmouth through to Cowes and Chichester Harbour.
The Shell Channel Pilot (9th edition)
This edition updates a long-standing pilot book, now authored by journalist and Yachtmaster Rachael Sprot. The text has been fully rewritten, combining navigation guidance with a more contemporary editorial approach while retaining its established structure.
Adriatic Pilot (9th edition)
This single-volume guide to the Adriatic Sea has been updated across Croatia, Italy, Montenegro and Albania. It includes revised information on marinas, moorings and anchorages.
