New electric hydrofoiling boat

futuristic hydrofoiling leisure boat

ENVGO, a pioneering clean-tech company, is launching its first electric hydrofoiling boat, the ENVGO NV1. The 25ft, six-person luxury cruiser is designed to address the challenges posed by traditional combustion-powered boats, offering a high-performance, sustainable alternative that redefines the boating experience.

ENVGO says its NV1 delivers an unparalleled boating experience, focusing on a smooth, quiet, and efficient hydrofoiling design, with no emissions and no wake.

Envgo is partnering with superyacht designer David Weiss of Designova Creative and an experienced America’s Cup naval architect for the ENVGO NV1. This partnership aims to combine world-class aesthetics with cutting-edge naval architecture.

According to the startup, consumers increasingly seek sustainable alternatives in every aspect of their lives, and the leisure marine sector is no exception. As the electric vehicle revolution continues to gain momentum, the boating industry is poised to be the next frontier in the clean energy transformation. The starting price for the boat is US$400,000

“We plan to begin production on initial orders in the latter half of 2025,” says Pete Keller, ENVGO co-founder and vice president. “The performance improvement is four times that of other conventional electric hull boats on the market today. While the official launch is scheduled for 2025, we are currently accepting reservations for those who wish to be among the first on the lake to own the ENVGO NV1.”

While many electric solutions on the market today suffer from limited range and speed, ENVGO says its advanced hydrofoil technology and electric propulsion systems overcome range and speed limitations, offering up to a fourfold increase in performance.

The ENVGO team, led by entrepreneur Mike Peasgood, comprises seasoned professionals with expertise in propulsion systems, hydrodynamics, flight control, and autonomy systems. Drawing on experience from the aerospace, automotive, and marine industries, the team says it is well-equipped to advance the electric boating sector.

Strategic investments and partnerships

ENVGO has secured initial investments from a group of investors that recognises the potential of electrifying the boating industry. These investors are not only financially backing the company but also bringing valuable industry connections and business acumen.

ENVGO is also exploring partnerships with leading technology providers in battery technology, marine engineering, and autonomy systems to enhance the business and drive the industry forward.

The NV1, ENVGO’s inaugural electric hydrofoiling boat, features a state-of-the-art propulsion system and an intuitive autonomous navigation system.

The hydrofoiling design reduces water resistance, resulting in greater range and a smoother ride than conventional hull designs. Additionally, the integration of advanced autonomous features, inspired by the latest automotive technology, simplifies navigation and enhances safety.
