DiPerk Power Solutions, the sole authorised distributor of Perkins engines in the UK and Ireland, says new Perkins marine propulsion engine models are on the way to the UK market. The former says that the latter’s engine is designed to tackle key industry challenges and deliver increased sustainability, less maintenance and higher reliability for small pleasure craft and commercial boats.

Challenges that DiPerk cites include environmental and technological demands from MARPOL and IMO plus increased fuel price volatility, rising operational and labour costs.

The new models are the Perkins M175C, M200C and M245C marine propulsion engines rated at 129 – 186 KW ( 175 – 245 Hp). Installation references for these engine models are not available yet. However, in addition to the new propulsion engines due for release later this year, the company launched the Perkins E44 & E70B emissions-compliant marine auxiliary engines last year.

“Amidst the growing challenges in the marine sector, the Perkins next generation marine propulsion engine aims to offer an effective solution for customers looking to enhance their operations,” says Keith Andrews, OEM account manager at DiPerk Power Solutions. “Alongside the top-tier emission technology and low maintenance enabling features, the engine is compact and is easily integrated meaning it is a viable option for multiple vessel types and applications. This versatility and increased reliability are vital when looking at navigating the changing conditions of the marine industry successfully.

“We are looking forward to bringing this new engine to our customers and encourage them to reach out to our team to discuss how this advanced engine could make a positive impact on the operational, financial and sustainability elements of their business.”

As the sole supplier of Perkins, DiPerk also services and supports the complete range of Perkins marine engines. Aside from marine, the engines are also used in a variety of markets and applications, including agricultural, construction, industrial and power generation.

As such, DiPerk’s got a national network of engineers and provides a 24-hour, 365 days a year emergency breakdown service. It says it also delivers accredited Perkins engine training courses for customers, and can help undertake a full range of engineering activities, from repair to remanufacture.
