Next Yacht Group acquires metal fabrication specialist Siman

Italy’s Next Yacht Group has announced the acquisition of Siman, which specialises in metal fabrication and mechanical engineering for the yachting industry.

The acquisition expands Next Yacht Group’s manufacturing capabilities in the metal superyacht sector for its Maiora and AB Yachts brands.

The deal was carried out by Continental Investment, a company under the same ownership as the group. The deal sees Continental Investment acquire 100 per cent of Siman.

Alongside the acquisition, the company has launched an industrial development plan backed by a total investment of €20m, with €11m already invested. The firm says this programme will expand production facilities, strengthen the order book and help it reach full profitability by 2027.

Siman, founded in 1988, specialises in mechanical engineering, propulsion systems and refit and maintenance services for yachts up to 60 metres. The company also operates in the commercial maritime and defence sectors and is involved in projects for the Italian Navy.

New metal yacht projects for Maiora and AB Yachts are already in development. The first 50-metre Maiora is under construction and the first new models are due to be unveiled before the end of 2026.

“The acquisition of Siman represents a natural evolution of our industrial growth strategy,” says Mario Petroni, chairman of Next Yacht Group. “This transaction expands our manufacturing capabilities in the strategically important metal yacht segment while strengthening a highly specialised Italian industrial supply chain. At the same time, it creates new opportunities for growth, innovation and employment.”

The acquisition also creates a division dedicated to the construction of metal superyachts, giving the group greater control over its manufacturing operations in Italy.

The company says employment has been maintained for Siman’s 70 direct employees since the project began. Over the coming months, Next Yacht Group plans to recruit up to 30 additional employees, while Siman is expected to add around 15 more positions.

The news comes after Next Yacht Group reported a ‘record-breaking’ year in 2025, including ten sales and six launches.
