Northrop & Johnson appoints commercial director for Europe
Northrop & Johnson, a global luxury yacht brokerage, has announced the appointment of Ben Young as commercial director for Europe, effective immediately.
Following the promotion of former managing director for Europe, Patrick Coote, to vice president of brand marketing for MarineMax’s superyacht division, Young steps into the role from his previous position as founder and commercial director of SYM, now Fairport Global. He will report to Northrop & Johnson president and chief commercial officer, Cromwell Littlejohn, and will focus on developing the company’s commercial divisions across Europe.
Northrop & Johnson was recently appointed the exclusive Europe-wide agent for the latest models from explorer yacht brand, Doggersbank.
In his previous role at Fairport, Young concentrated on expanding the company’s yacht management team in Europe and implementing new strategies. With extensive experience and an established network of contacts, he will oversee operations in Northrop & Johnson’s European offices, which include Monaco, Antibes, Palma, London and Istanbul. The services provided in these locations encompass yacht brokerage and purchase, new builds, charter retail, charter marketing, yacht management and crew services.
Young says he aims to strengthen client relationships and expand services to align with the evolving luxury yacht market.
“We are extremely proud to welcome Ben into his new role of commercial director for Europe,” says Cromwell Littlejohn, Northrop & Johnson president and chief commercial officer. “I am excited to work with Ben on growing Northrop & Johnson’s European operation across all services offered. Ben’s industry knowledge and connections are beneficial to ensuring our continued growth and success.”
Young says his objective is to enhance Northrop & Johnson’s presence in Europe and ensure the company remains a leader in the luxury yachting industry.
