Northrop & Johnson names business development director
Northrop & Johnson has appointed George Whitehouse as business development director. He will be based at Northrop & Johnson’s (N&J) global headquarters in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
“I am thrilled to join Northrop & Johnson,” says Whitehouse. “With my experience and the exceptional team at N&J, we will unlock the full potential of our organisation and elevate the positioning of big boats in the market.”
Whitehouse will be collaborating with all of Northrop & Johnson’s commercial divisions to drive business and brings 35 years of knowledge and expertise to his new role. He began his career as a captain of 50 to 73-meter superyachts and then became business development director at shipyards, including the full build of Rybovich Marina & Shipyard and Savannah Yacht Center and the re-design of Lauderdale Marine Center.
Whitehouse’s introduction to yachting came through his experience delivering yachts from Long Island, New York, to various destinations, such as the Caribbean, The Bahamas and Florida. He shifted to running cruise ships in New York Harbor before entering the world of superyachts.
“Having George join the Northrop & Johnson team is an exciting moment for us. His wealth of experience and expertise in the superyacht industry will undoubtedly elevate our capabilities and strengthen our position as a leader in the market,” says Daniel Ziriakus, president and COO of Northrop & Johnson.
Recently the company appointed Mark Sanfilippo to its international team as head of technology & product. He is based in the company’s Fort Lauderdale office.
