Grand Boats has announced that, from now on, all applicable Grand RIB models will come pre-fitted with the Scanstrut Active Waterproof Wireless Charger, eliminating the need for aftermarket installation at the dealership level.

The former says this is a factory level upgrade that aligns with evolving customer expectations, and streamlines the dealer preparation process.

With wireless phone charging already becoming a common dealer add on, this change marks a logical step forward in delivering convenience and value right from the production line.

Scanstrut (which updated its website earlier this year) says its active charger is a proven solution, designed specifically for outdoor and marine use. It provides secure, fast wireless charging even in wet, rough conditions and is compatible with all major phone brands and waterproof cases.

Mounted on the console or helm, it offers easy one-handed operation, holding a phone firmly while keeping it visible, accessible, and fully charged at all times. Technical information is available on the company’s website.

This standard feature will complement, not replace, the built in USB charging points found in Grand Boats.

“From our point of view, having an OEM select our product as a standard-fit solution is the ultimate validation of our hard work,” says Grant Fox, Scanstrut’s head of marketing. “It brings with it a forecast and makes life more straightforward for all our departments. Purchasing can line up stock ready for shipment, sales have a reliable pipeline, and marketing has a compelling story to tell, both about our OEM partnership and the content created by the OEM, which we can use to further promote the product.”

“We’ve always loved Scanstrut from our very first interactions. So, when we saw that nearly every Grand RIB was being fitted with their beautiful products at the dealer level, it felt natural to take the next step and partner with them at the factory level,” says Nick Belousov, marketing & sales manager, Grand Boats. “Today, they’re our go-to partner to support our customers and deliver the technology they expect.”

Belousov says his boats have had electric packages since the very beginning – common things like bilge pumps, nav lights, horns, switches, USB sockets, wiring, etc. “As our range of RIBs has developed it allowed us to offer more luxuries, options such as fridges, windlass or extra speaker slots in hard-tops. Overall it has always been common equipment and common options for us, while the custom tech was installed at the dealer level.

“The last four to five years have been most impactful on our vision and approach. What’s now common, and most necessary equipment, has changed. So naturally, we move along with demand.”

“Sadly, the last three and a half years have been the hardest in our history.” The company’s Ukrainian. “I guess one could probably say we are somewhat slightly lagging behind,” Belousov says.

“However, following feedback, last year we started doing Yamaha Mech & DBW pre-rigging. Now, we’ll be doing Scanstrut installation and soon we should be able to start offering interior/underdeck lighting and sound systems installations.”

“All of this will make ordering-to-handover experience for the customer as smooth and quick as possible.”
