Palm Beach Motor Yachts completes expansion of Malaysia facility

Palm Beach Motor Yachts has undergone major renovations to its facility in Johor

Palm Beach Motor Yachts has completed significant renovations to its manufacturing facility in Johor, Malaysia.

Over the past year, the facility has added 31,000 square metres to the existing 51,000-square-metre space. With this expansion, the total factory footprint now measures 80,000 square metres, equivalent to 20 acres of covered workspace.

The expansion is a major part of parent company Grand Banks’ strategy to ramp up boat construction and improve delivery times. The updated facility is designed to support the growing demand for factory-direct boat building, add cutting-edge technology to the production process and also improve customisation options for yacht owners.

Mark Richards, founder, CEO, and chief designer of Palm Beach Motor Yachts, says: “Our investment in this expansion is about more than just the physical space. It encompasses advanced technology, innovative equipment, enhanced building processes, and, most importantly, the talented people who bring our vision to life. The satisfaction I derive from seeing it all come together is amazing.”

The company says this development also reinforces its commitment to direct sales and service, catering to an international customer base.

Grand Banks Yachts recently expanded to the US West Coast. In 2022, the Grand Banks group purchased the marina and service yard opposite its USA headquarters in Florida, to help expand its footprint in the US.
