Strengthening its presence and capabilities for yacht construction on the Adriatic, Palumbo Superyachts has acquired the concession for a 13,048.98 sqm waterfront in the Port of Ortona, Italy. The new area is intended for the development of shipbuilding activities for its ISA Yachts, Columbus Yachts, Extra Yachts, and Mondomarine brands.

Palumbo Superyachts’ in build

The acquisition of the Ortona area supports a period of significant growth for the company in the new-build sector, which ranges from 30 to 100 metres. According to Palumbo Superyachts, the company has an order backlog of over €1 billion and 24 superyacht projects currently underway.

The area has direct access to the sea and its own slipway, and expands the company’s production and logistics capacity of its superyachts division.

“Ortona represents a strategic step in Palumbo Superyachts’ growth path,” says Giuseppe Palumbo, sole director of Palumbo Superyachts. “We have chosen a territory whose DNA is rooted in metal shipbuilding and which possesses highly valuable technical expertise. Our objective is to further strengthen our production capacity by investing in infrastructure, people, and innovation. We look to the future with ambition, confident that this new development will significantly contribute to the competitiveness of Italian yachting in global markets.”

The location in Ortano is suited to shipbuilding thanks to its structured commercial port, consolidated expertise in metal carpentry, and a specialised industrial supply chain focused on steel processing.

Superyacht projects currently underway include 14 for ISA Yachts and four for Columbus Yachts.
