Naval Special Forces carried out an underwater inspection of a ship in the Bay of Amatique, Puerto Barrios, Izabal, according to Publinews.
In a joint Army and Navy operation, divers from the Naval Special Forces found 30 packages of cocaine hidden in a metal ‘parasite’ on the side of the ship.
According to the authorities, the drug cartels use parasites to prevent the police from detecting shipments of drugs and other illicit cargoes.
