Parker Boats appoints Whitman Barnes as president
Parker Boats has appointed its finance director, Whitman Barnes, as president, succeeding Scott Bauer.
Correct Craft acquired Parker Boats in 2019. The brand manufactures offshore fishing, sport and family leisure boats across a lineup spanning over 20 models ranging from 6 to 16 metres.
Barnes has been promoted to the role after working as director of finance and product strategy since 2024, and working closely with the Parker team, dealer network and Correct Craft leadership. Raised in eastern North Carolina, he has longstanding ties to both the company and the boating community it serves.
“Parker has built an incredible reputation over generations for producing boats that are dependable, capable and purpose-built for serious boaters,” says Whitman. “Being raised around this prestigious brand, I’m honoured to step into this role and continue building on the strong foundation already in place. Our focus remains on supporting our dealers and customers while continuing to grow the Parker brand and creating compelling products that will last a lifetime.”
Former president Scott Bauer, who held the position of president since 2020, issued his endorsement of Whitman.
“Whitman understands both the business and the people behind the brand,” says Bauer. “His thoughtful leadership style, strategic mindset and commitment to Parker’s long-term success make him the right person to lead the company forward.”
