Royal Wharf launches at Edinburgh Marina

Edinburgh Marina Holdings, the developer of the landmark Edinburgh Marina scheme, announced yesterday the launch of the first phase of its luxury Royal Wharf development retirement apartments. The launch coincides with the opening of the Edinburgh Marina show flat in the Old Gunpowder Store and will provide the first opportunity for purchasers to reserve apartments as well, at the same time enabling boat owners to reserve one of 340 berths in the new Edinburgh Marina.

The Royal Wharf Living For Retirement development is designed for the over 55s, providing the services and amenities for an active and fulfilling retirement. The 106 spacious quality apartments are complemented by the development’s 24-hour concierge service, secure separate private storage facilities and car parking (all with charging points) and access to a wide range of specifically tailored amenities and services including: a private dining room & cinema, business centre, dog washing facility and a communal laundry room.

From 9am on Wednesday 17 October 2018, potential new buyers will have the opportunity to view the show apartment located in the restored Old Gunpowder Store which is located in Lochinvar Drive adjacent to Middle Pier. The showroom will showcase the quality of interior design and specification from the principle suppliers Sims Hilditch, Neptune, Khars, VitrA, Roman, and Hamilton Litestat.

A selection of spacious one, two and three-bedroom luxury retirement residences will be available for reservation. Knight Frank has been appointed as the Sales Agent for the scheme, in conjunction with DJ Alexander who are the largest letting agency in Edinburgh.

The proximity of Royal Wharf to the new Edinburgh Marina is at the heart of the development’s appeal, with residents able to take advantage of all the amenities in the nearby spa and conference hotel as well as unparalleled marina facilities.

Commenting on the future of Edinburgh Marina, Neil Scott, Partner at Knight Frank stated: “We are delighted to be appointed as sales agent for what is arguably Edinburgh’s most exciting new waterside location. Royal Wharf has an unrivalled level of specification and amenities, which will appeal to this increasingly important market segment.”

Melinda Illes, Head of New Business for DJ Alexander stated: “The regeneration of Granton Harbour is a really exciting prospect for Edinburgh and the whole Granton area. With ever growing demand for rental properties across the Scottish capital, the investment potential is huge for these residential properties. We are confident that this part of the city will become a real destination and we are delighted to be contributing to the legacy of Edinburgh Marina.”

Kevin Fawcett, Developer of Edinburgh Marina Holdings Ltd added: “Since detailed planning permission was granted in December 2017 we have received an extraordinary amount of interest in our Royal Wharf retirement residences. We are therefore delighted to launch the initial phase of these apartments for sale and look forward to welcoming potential new buyers to our new Sales and Marketing Suite.”
